Patrick Jackson was born 1866 Gundagai NSW Australia
Paddy Jackson, as he was known to family and friends, married Annie Waldron at Wagga Wagga NSW Australia in 1900. He died at Narrandera NSW Australia in 1953. He was survived by his wife Annie and eight of his nine children. Paddy's daughter, Mary Jackson, born 1910 at Lake Albert Wagga Wagga NSW Australia, was our nanna.

Billy Goat Carts
For some reason, unknown to me, there was a fascination for Billy Goat Carts.
When we moved from the farm at Cobbity to Queen Street Campbelltown we said goodbye to all the animals, including Granny Grunch, the cow we used to ride, but we had a goat in the yard in the main street of Cambelltown as late as 1962 I believe. Pictures of children and their carts, much like this one, were very common. There was also the annual ritual of the gala, or fancy dress ball to look forward to, and I remember mum sowing hundreds of beads on sugar sack material to make me an indian outfit when I ws very small. I won the prize!

Alexander Moffatt was born 20 April 1883 The Law, Carluke, Lanark Scotland. He dropped the second T from his name and stated on his marriage certificate he was from Rosebank, Lanark.
Alex married Helen Beattie Stewart in 1912 soon after she arrived in Brisbane Queensland.
They went straight to live at Blair Athol where Alexander was employed as a miner.
Alexander died at Blair Athol QLD 31 July 1947. Helen had passed away previously, in 1928.
They were my grandparents. My father was their son, Donald Stewart Moffat (1927 -1995).

At the time of his marriage in 1949 to Ruth Groves at Cessnock NSW he was a grader driver.
Don lived in various other places in QLD, including Possum Vale, and Mount Morgan.
Don died at Mount Morgan in 1995 and is buried in the local cemetery.

Helen Beattie Stewart born 1885 Logierait Perth Scotland
Grandmother "Nellie" (Helen) Stewart stated on her marriage certificate that she was born in Aberfeldy, Perthshire, Scotland, but her birth was registered at nearby Logierait.
Nellie's father, Donald Stewart, a gamekeeper, was born 27/6/1850 at Kinloch Rannoch, Fortingall, Perthshire, Scotland. He married Nellie's mother, Helen Beattie, in 1880.
Nellie married Alexander Moffatt on Christmas Eve 1912 in Brisbane Queensland Australia.
Sadly, Nellie died in 1928 at Bluff Queensland at age 43 leaving behind 6 young children.
